GARLICKY SEITAN SAUSAGES EASY TO MAKE

The best vegan sausages! Full of flavor and easy to make!

Ingredients

  • Wet ingredients
  • 120 gr red kidney beans

  • 280 ml vegetable stock

  • 6 garlic cloves

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 1/2 tbsp liquid smoke

  • 1 tbsp agave syrup

  • Dry ingredients
  • 170 gr vital wheat gluten

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1 tbsp chickpea flour

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp chicken seasoning

  • 1 good pinch black pepper

Directions

  • Add all wet ingredients in a food processor and pulse until you get a smooth mixture.
  • Add all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add wet mixture in the bowl and mix until incorporated. Knead for about 5 minutes and separate your dough in 8 equal parts.
  • Cut 8 pieces parchment paper and 8 pieces of aluminium foil (about 15 x 30 cm).
  • Take a piece of dough and form a suasage. Place it in the center of the parchement paper and wrap it like a candy twisting the ends. Place the wrapped saucage in a piece of aluminium foil and wrap ones again.
  • Repeat with all the sausages.
  • In a pot add 5 cups of water and bring to a gently simmer. Add the sausages and simmer for about 45 minutes.
  • When done remove and let cool before unwrapping.
  • To cook add in a [an some oil and fry 2 – 3 minutes from each side.

Notes

  • Unfortunately these cannot be made gluten free
  • For best results after simmering let cool over night in a fridge to firm up.
